Personal shopping – not just for celebrities
Some women love the whole personal shopping experience, and I don’t mean using a personal shopper. No, first let’s talk about the really personal shopping experience, which ‘personally’ I find a complete pain in the derriere. Struggling in and out of packed stores, desperately searching through rails of clothes for something in my size, waddling to the changing room queue ready to face my red and sweaty self in the full length mirror and hating every outfit… not a nice experience.
Getting personal
Well it seems that the people who really, really love to shop have found a better way to do things, and unsurprisingly are keeping it all very quiet from the likes of us. Personal shopping has been around for years; I’m sure you too have spotted the slightly ‘VIP’ looking curtain in the corner of the department store with ‘personal shopper’ written above it? If you, like most of us, have been tempted to peek inside but never had the nerve, then here is why you should take the plunge.
What did you think would happen?
It’s like the shower scene from Psycho. She pulls back the curtain, ready to face sniffy, patronising designer store lady who usually only deals with VIPs and… what she actually finds on the other side of that ominous curtain is a rather nice, bubbly young lady who is only too pleased that someone wants to make use of her (very good) personal shopping skills. The personal shopper looks the lady up and down, asks her what occasion the outfit is for and without another word, disappears leaving lady to relax in comfy armchair, sipping quality coffee and reading this week’s edition of her favourite gossip mag.
And then…?
The personal shopping lady returns with not one but four absolutely gorgeous outfits in the perfect size and whilst lady is trying them on in the comfort of her own extra massive, air conditioned changing room, personal shopping lady pops off and returns with the ultimate in matching bags, shoes and accessories for the outfits. Now I ask you, why on earth wouldn’t you?
